Ashley’s Hometown Bridals | Crystal Reyns Photography | Louisa, Va Wedding Photographer

When Ashley had contacted me to capture her next chapter in life with the man she had been building a life with for FIFTEEN years, I was totally honored. Not only would that day be special, but I actually grew up with Ashley and she was the first bride I would have to capture their day that I had known since the days of the elementary school bus. So so so many days on Ms. Baber’s bus riding to Jouett.

Ashley wanted to stay in our home town for her bridals, it’s where she grew up, feel in love, and built a home for their life together. In choosing a location…..needless to say we picked a few.

The town of Louisa as that is where we are from, its a small town, and we may have hated it growing up, but it is a part of us. Weston Farms for the gorgeous lighting, and our elementary school.

All bridals are extra special to me, but this one right here hit home. This woman that I knew from a little girl that was a friend walking across the road to catch the school bus that I would get to capture walking down the aisle to her next chapter in life. Thank you Ashley for allowing me to capture your beauty as a bride!!

A gorgeous snowy winter bridal session l Louisa, Va Wedding Photographer

When I first met with Camdynne to discuss her big day she said ‘I want to do bridals in the snow.” Exactly one month after their big day I got to spend a few hours with Camdynne and Kyle on this gorgeous Mineral, Va property. Camdynne you are stunning with your red hair, and you totally rocked this in the snow.
We went against all ‘normals’ for this amazing shoot. As a photographer we know it is a little harder to shoot in the snow, because there is so much white and highlights. Not only did we shoot in the snow, it was sunny, and about 11:00 am……Yes I was hoping for overcast, but I am now so glad it was sunny and these are timeless images for Camdynne.

Camdynne’s Fall Bridal Portraits l Louisa, Va Wedding Photographer

When thinking back on Camdynne’s bridal session, all I can think is perfection. It was a gorgeous Fall day, rather warm for the time of year, and we picked a perfect setting which happened to be a friend’s farm in Madison. On the drive to Madison we actually stopped at two locations as well, which I’m thankful to have such laid back brides that are okay with my crazy ideas like this. πŸ™‚
Camdynne’s dress is AMAZING!!!! Perfect for her! Perfect for fall! And Perfect for a country setting!
And that smile says it all πŸ™‚
 Friendliest horses EVER!
The one shot I KNEW I wanted during sunset πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
And just a few after sun set images as well πŸ™‚

Katelyn as a bride l Va Wedding Photographer

Woooo hoooo Katelyn got married this past Saturday and now I can finally share some of her bridal images from both sessions we had.
This journey has been as true honor, as I met Katelyn a few years ago, when she was blonde and a little firecracker. She reminded me a lot of myself at that age. Since then we have grown close as friends, she has helped/ assisted quite a few weddings and shoots, even traveling to Memphis and Nags Head for weddings with me. Katelyn you have grown into an amazing, gorgeous, kind hearted woman I am so happy to call a friend. So for this moment in her life I wanted it to not only be perfect, but to go above and beyond for her bridal experience. LOVE you to the moon and back pretty girl….always shine bright!! πŸ™‚
Her first bridal session was at an abandoned mansion in Afton. It was a cold Spring day, but Katelyn totally ROCKED it!!
 One of my many favorites!!
For Katelyn’s second bridal session she choose her wedding site for the country side of her….and it was perfect!!!
 Love that smile!!!
 Meet Spirit! πŸ™‚
This image has a little story behind it, and not just a road she is walking down. She is walking from her past, her childhood neighborhood, the house she grew up in, to her new life as a wife…and you look amazing doing it….I wish you the best of luck in this new adventure with Robbie!

Michelle and Austin’s Estate Wedding l Richmond, Va Wedding Photographer

There is a quote somewhere that states ‘A couple that fishes together stays together.’ When I think of Michelle and Austin that is the quote that comes to mind. Not only does this couple fish together they also throw down on the dance floor and just have a great time together, and to me that is very important. They had a very unique proposal that was wrapped around Austin’s favorite hobby, which happens to be fishing. So in planning their wedding decor, of course it had some angler decor.
Michelle and Austin’s wedding was rather unique as a lot of their family and friends helped with the decor of the day. I must say I think Austin was the happiest groom I have ever had on a wedding day, he couldn’t wait to see Michelle in her wedding dress, and she was STUNNING. And to top it off I have never seen a whole wedding party fishing prior to entering the reception.
Austin actually made this arbor for them to get married in front of……mad props!!
 …selfies with the bride are a must….
LOVED this moment when he spun her around, their love is AWESOME!
Austin and his mom have some SERIOUS dance moves!!! Best mother son dance to date!!
 Boys will be boys….
Michelle and Austin had a ‘little’ surprise for their best man and maid of honor for their cake cutting πŸ™‚

Megan’s Rustic Bridal Session l New Kent, Va Wedding Photographer

Now that Megan is a married woman I can share a few of my favorites from her bridal session. Bridal sessions are so special to me, and I honestly don’t really know why….but I just absolutely LOVE them. It’s the first time the bride gets to see exactly how she is going to look on her wedding day with her hair, dress, makeup, accessories, and flowers…..and I get to capture that!!!! That in itself is an honor.
Sometimes for a bride it is the first time they are in front of a camera with me. It is expected for a moment like that to be nervous and uneasy. For my brides I make it as fun as possible, because girls your ‘REAL’ smiles are your most gorgeous smiles.

Megan decided to do her bridals where she would be getting married The Vintager Inn in New Kent, Va, which is GORGEOUS and offers so many beautiful backdrops. We also went down to Yorktown for a few beach images at sunset as well. I absolutely loved this day and getting to know Megan and her mom. Megan you are STUNNING!!!

 By far my FAVORITE!!!
LOVE the back of her dress…
Megan’s veil was a perfect compliment to her dress

And THEN we took a little drive on down to Yorktown, Va just in time to catch some gorgeous sunlight.

Her Mom was the BEST veil thrower EVER!!!
 EEEEKKK perfection!!!
 Love her laugh!!!
Another absolute FAV!!

Thank you Megan for being SSSSOOOOO awesome!!! I hope you and Greg have so much fun in Antigua on your honeymoon!!

Lauren’s Bridals l Richmond, Va Wedding Photographer

Bridals have always been my all time favorite type of session, and Lauren’s was no exception to that statement. The setting was Historic Mankin Mansion which is a beyond gorgeous venue, and also the place where she would be wed a little over a month after this session. They offer a touch of vintage with a lot of class. Totally LOVE LOVE their piano room!
Lauren’s Bridals were also featured on Pretty Pear Bride!!!
Lauren you are GORGEOUS and make such a stunning bride!!
Her AMAZING bouquet is by Flowers by Mona Ray

Natasha & Robbin l Lake Anna, Va Wedding Photographer

Robbin and Nastaha traveled all the way from Hawaii to Lake Anna for their July Wedding. It was the place they met, the place they got engaged, and now the place where they became man and wife. As for most of us view Hawaii as a paradise, this little cove in Bumpass on Lake Anna is their paradise.
This was a gorgeous Thursday with a small percentage of rain. And though the weather man and radar stated there was a storm coming, that did not wipe away the smile’s off their faces.

A rather tropical bouquet to fit this perfect wedding mix of Hawaiian and Va. Believe or not she got all these flowers at Trader Joes.

I loved her earrings that were made for her.

Loved the vintage feel of Natasha’s Wedding dress.

The Ceremony Site before the dark clouds rolled in.

All the girls came to the ceremony site by boat πŸ™‚

Natasha getting a peek at her soon to be husband waiting for her.

It started to rain about this point, and look at the gorgeous smile on Natasha’s face πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

This is when her uncle said he would continue the ceremony under the tent.
LOVE how happy they are!!

Loved this special moment where her sister was fixing her hair.

Although the family, friends, and guests had to grab their chair and run to the tent, I love that every one was still so happy. It didn’t matter if it was raining or shining they were glad to be in this moment celebrating love.

We began to take portraits under tent, because we didn’t know if the rain would let up to do any outdoor images.

But then the rain let up, and their family portraits have that perfect tropical feel.

THIS is how you know you have awesome clients πŸ™‚

Natasha you are stunning!!

Great job Louisa Tent Rental!!

Huge Kudos to Natasha again, she made this cake. She said it was a family Hawaiian recipe. Now, I don’t meet too many brides that make their own wedding cake, plus being miles and miles away from home. GREAT JOB!!!

There was quite a few toast at their wedding, and I loved catching the little moments between Natasha and Robbin and their friends and family told life stories and moments.

Time for cake!
Robbin wanted it documented on how muddy it was after the rain.

LOVED all of their dances!!! All very fun and original!!

BEST Mother/son dance I have witnessed to date!!!

I am a sucker for father/daughter dances, I always tear up. And this one was the same. Such a strong bond between these two!

And then they danced the night away.

Priscilla’s Bridals l Petersburg, Va Wedding Photographer

I totally forgot to share these gorgeous images with everyone….shame on me!!! πŸ™

Priscilla decided to do her bridal session at her wedding location (Dellwood Plantation) and downtown Petersburg. The day for this session was a month prior to her wedding date. It was a little chilly, calling for a slight chance of rain, but the perfect overcast for portraits. Priscilla was a champ in the cold and her mom and best friend Megan stood close by with a jacket and assisted me to get the session done quickly.

I will say this to her now husband, Chris. You are a lucky man. Priscilla is by far one of the most polite, selfless, caring persons you could ever meet. I know I am blessed and honored to have captured not only this day, but their Wedding Day.

Priscilla wanted to make this session not only memorable for her, but also for her dad. As he had passed two years ago, and she being a daddy and mommy’s girl wanted to do something extra special. Make sure to scroll to the bottom to view what I made just for Priscilla for her Father/Daughter Dance.

Here Priscilla holds a picture of her mom and dad on their wedding day:
And she is just stunning in black and white as well.

 LOVED these doors!
Priscilla you are STUNNING!!
Her favorite picture of her and her daddy:
Every girl needs a pair of sparkly shoes.

Meet Highlander. As soon as Priscilla was stepping into her wedding gown she turned to me and said, I really want a picture with that white horse. So while she was finished getting ready, I went down and kindly asked the owners if we could make that happen. They gladly said ‘yes.’ When I told Priscilla the great news, she just lit up. I knew she would absolutely never forget her bridal session, because she got to spend a few minutes with this gorgeous horse.
 LOVE this!
And then he asked her if she wanted to get on Highlander. She didn’t hesitate. This was Priscilla’s first time on a horse, and she totally rocked it!!
 Then we headed to Petersburg
 I do love a dramatic image!! πŸ™‚

I wanted to do something special for Priscilla for her Father/Daughter Dance. As being a daddy’s girl, I knew she would never get this moment in real life. So here is the big reveal of my gift to her:

Ashley’s Bridal Session l Goochland, Va Wedding Photographer

It is no secret that I absolutely LOVE bridal sessions, but I must say this year I love them ten times more. Now that Ashley and Otto are married, I can finally share these gorgeous portraits with everyone.

Ashley choose a venue that was beyond gorgeous, and portrayed her country girl side. It offered a red barn, chickens, and lovely sun light. Ashley also brought some of her own props……which I would rather you see in pictures, I don’t want to ruin the surprise on those.

Goregous bouquet by King William Florist

Makeup Artist is the Ah-mazing Allen Stanley
She has the most amazing blue eyes EVER!!!
Ashley LOVES softball, and after her bridal session she surely did go to her softball games, but not in her dress.
And then she busted out the gun….that’s my girl!!! πŸ™‚
AAAANNNNDDDD some Tequila… we are talking!!
 AMAZINGLY yummy light
LOVE this in black and white.
For these last shots, I will not spill the beans on where we had to go and what followed, but it was ALL worth it for these field shots. πŸ™‚
