Lacey and Steven’s Emotional Announcement l Crystal Reyns Photography l Louisa, Va Family Photographer

Lacey contacted weeks prior to their session for another anniversary session with her sweetie. Shortly after that email, I received the good news. She wanted to turn their session into a slideshow to tell everyone their good news, but also share some insight into their struggles with infertility. Many many women struggle with these same issues, yet we hide it and put on a smile. Only a handful of people knew of their struggles until now. The support system that has surround this amazing couple these past two weeks warms my heart and makes me so happy for them, y’all are amazing!!!!!!

Check out their slideshow HERE:

Caleb’s Lifestyle Newborn Session l Glen Allen, Va Family Photographer

Caleb Owen, 9 days new, and only a few days in his home with Mommy, Daddy, Duck, Goose, and Slinky. So far I would say he is completely loved by everyone. πŸ™‚ Duck has become quite the guard dog, and no one gets close to his baby.
Joanna and Corey prayed for quite some time for this little miracle. And when she says ‘dreams really do come true,’ she means it, because she has lived in the moment of seeing hers come true.
Earlier this year when I announced that I would no longer be offering newborn sessions, I got quite a few worried texts, messages, and emails. Joanna was one of those. I reassured her that I was not offering studio newborns, but I would still wanted to capture the story of welcoming baby home. This session was nothing shy of amazing.
Sometimes we forget the little details in life. With Joanna and Corey I want you to remember the small items you picked for Caleb’s room….
….the first time you changed his diaper, and how fast he grows into the next size….
….all the toys you will spend years picking up and putting back in this basket…
….the first time he will get to sleep in his crib over night…..
… he is amazed at the small things, and you wonder what he is thinking before he old enough to tell you…..

….how he sleeps on your chest, and how he loves his fists balled up…

….how Duck and Goose look over him….

….how he throws up his ‘gang’ signs….
….how you hold him and how small he is, because this will change rapidly over the next year…

….his tiny precious fingers…
……how you can just stare at him for hours in amazement that he is yours….

…the cutest yawns EVER!!…

…and never forget the love y’all have for each other.
In lifestyle newborns I want to make a change. I want everyone to not just cherish a picture, but I want you to cherish a moment. A moment that happens everyday. A moment that we may take for granted. A moment that we forget to capture. Focus on the now, and then ten, twenty, thirty years from now I want these moments to be the ones that take you right back to THIS day, and pulls on your heart strings because this is what you will remember most.

Oh the faces they make!!!
Caleb’s very first toy mommy and daddy bought him.
We had some time for some FIRST family photos at a park close to their house. πŸ™‚
I love y’all’s love!!! But this is a favorite!

Joanna requested I bring a basket and some hats πŸ™‚

Jones Maternity l Louisa, Va Family Photographer

The theme this week is family, babies, and baby bumps….all things that love brings.

Ashley and Conard are no stranger to being in front of the camera. As they are expecting baby number TWO, another boy, I was very honored they wanted me to capture this special time. Boy oh boy did we have fun and some great laughs during this session.

Little Conard is going to make a great big brother.

Absolutely LOVE her smile and gorgeous baby bump!!

LOVE this!!

I love that kids are so excited to be in the water.

The way he is looking up at his mom…….melted heart!

I told Ashley and Conard to look down at the belly….she said “which one”…..then I captured THIS:

How sweet?!?!?!?!

Conard loved the sunflowers too

Ashley please hang this one on your wall… a LARGE print!

ooooohhhhh the jokes we told that day….but made perfect for catching up and perfect ‘real’ smiles

And you know I’m favoriting this one too πŸ™‚

There is one thing that is true about this family: I LOVE their LOVE. The LOVE Aaron and Bethany have that is still growing, and the love they have for Emmie. πŸ™‚ Y’all make me believe this world is better with just a little look into your life.
I actually didn’t place their hands in a heart, but while looking back it is pretty perfect. Aaron and Bethany hope and prayed for a baby for quite some time, and when they found out I can gladly say I was one of the first.
Emmie hoped for a baby brother, and that is what she will be getting. Gavin is to make his appearance in September. I can’t wait to capture his first moments in this world……
The thought of being able to capture Emmie holding Gavin brings happy tears to my eyes. I know she will just in awe of how tiny he will be. His ten tiny fingers and his ten tiny toes. I can’t wait to hear her say ‘Crystal, look at how cute my baby brother is.’ As she did tell me she is the Queen and Gavin will be the King.
Gavin will surely be welcomed into a family full of love!
 Favorite ‘family’ picture to date!!
Aaron you need to catch up…. πŸ™‚
And this moment is why I can’t get enough of these two. Married with a toddler, and one on the way, and they still know how to have FUN!
This is what LOVE looks like!
Love that baby bump, coral dress, and wet feet!!
This crazy girl….melts my heart!!
Please put this on the wall….SWOON!!
I leave ya with a funny one, only because her faces are AWESOME. This was after she told me she was ‘done’ and ‘I’m out’ about 5-6 times. LOL

Zawodny Family l Glen Allen, Va Family Photographer

It was such a pleasure conversing back and forth with Emily weeks prior to this session. Getting to know about her and her little family was great, and that always makes it so exciting to meet a family for the first time. All I can say is, What a sweet sweet family!!!
Their session was on the morning of Father’s Day and John was all smiles, you can clearly tell how much joy Jake brings to their life. πŸ™‚
I absolutely LOVE mornings at Crump Park, it’s quiet and not crowded. This time of year is probably my favorite as well, as the wildflower field is in bloom. And this field makes if perfect for those summer time family portraits.
Jake didn’t know what to think of the flowers
 Super adorable family, right?!?!?
I love pictures where Dad is all smiles with his children!
Emily, you are GORGEOUS!!!! And Jake is such a cutie!!
 Perfection in black and white!!
Barefeet and coveralls on little boys melt my country girl heart!
 πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
Cake smash time as Jake is getting ready to turn ONE!!

High Family l Yorktown, Va Family Photographer

Today’s blog is all about family and love. And how could you not love a blue eyed cutie patootie little boy, RIGHT?!?!?! πŸ™‚
I begin talking to Kirsten about their family session a few weeks prior to their session date. As I had already planned to be in Yorktown during that holiday weekend for their and my friends, Joanna and Corey’s maternity session, so it could’ve have worked out more perfectly. Now, planning to be in Yorktown on a holiday weekend I now know to plan better. As it is normally a quiet town, not too much traffic. For this weekend it was CRAZY traffic. So with a little change of plans on location (really only 2-3 blocks from planned) it worked out perfect, plus I’m a sucker for old buildings and doors…..LOVE THEM.

From where we parked we had to walk a little bit, but that was fine because I got to learn more about this gorgeous family. Everyone knows I love LOVE, I love capturing love, and the love in this family is amazing. Something I can hope everyone in life can experience.

EEEEKKKKK love Dad’s face in this!!

Mommy love!

Look y’all I found my foot
Both hands!!
How adorable is he??
I see this as a large print on a wall in y’all’s house!

I love a smile in between kissed, it’s quite PERFECT!!

And a few images just for Mom and Dad, as I do love to do these at every family session.

Joanna and Corey’s Yorktown, Va Maternity Session l Crystal Reyns Photography

Have you ever felt so much love for your clients? I  think that is the only way to explain Joanna and Corey. I absolutely love everything about them; their laughs, quirks, spunk, and on top of all that their love for one another. Watching them grow as a couple has been such an amazing experience and eye opener on how life should be spent. They love each other fully, and compliment each other to a T.

In learning of this next chapter, Corey wanted me to be on of the first to know so I could open up my schedule to be with them every step of the way, document their life as it takes the next step. During this journey, I learned how hard it had been for them to make this journey. As this little miracle will make his (see gender reveal here) appearance before we know it I wanted to share some of my favorites from their maternity session in Corey’s home town, Yorktown, VA.

I know how much Joanna and Corey wished, hoped, and prayed for this miracle. I asked Joanna to take a dandelion, or two or three, I won’t tell, for this images right here. I wanted to capture exactly what they did before they got a positive sign. And now they only have wishes for Baby Bell. (I’m team Owen)

We started out at Surrender field, where I got to meet some of Corey’s family. I mean why not throw in a family mini while everyone is together right?!?!

The sun may have been hot that day, but in the shade was heavenly.

I am also hoping for a red headed baby, fingers crossed!!

EEEEKKKK!!! I am so in love with her baby bump!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!

Love her red hair!! πŸ™‚

Another thing I absolutely love when working with Joanna and Corey is when I tell them to kiss, they KISS!!

Brantley will be here soon l Louisa, Va Maternity/ Family Photographer

Brantley will be here before we know it. I was so please to meet this awesome family. We had an awesome time at Weston Farms for their family maternity session. These boys gave me a run for my money for smiles, but with some awesome dance moves I got them. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to meet Mr Brantley in December. πŸ™‚

 LOVE this!!

Gorgeous Family!

I love how happy y’all are!

Ti-Lea you are stunning as a mommy to be πŸ™‚

Henshaw Family l Louisa, Va Family Photographer

I think setting up the first “family” pictures with your first child is something a mother holds dear to her heart. I have been with Shelley and Jonathan through this pregnancy with Mr Brantley. I got to witness her in labor, which scares the heck out of me, as I have not experienced that in life yet. The first moments with mom and dad in the hospital are just precious. Brantley was so great for his newborn pictures as well, such a sweet little boy. As he is now THREE months old, I was so impressed as how he followed the camera. Still such a sweet calm little baby, and I am so in love with him and his smile. Being Mommy and Daddy sure does look good on Shelley and Jonathan.

Timberlake Mommy & Me l Glen Allen, Va Family Photographer

I absolutely LOVE the spring time, not only for flowers and lots of green, but because I get to meet new clients for awesome sessions like this. These two little boys, aaaahhhhh, they are the cutest and so full of spunk and life.

I follow quite a few blogs, and only a few family photographers. When they say you never know what your going to get with children, they are right. And boy do they really say the darnest things, this session proved both, but help me build my skills on more non-posed images, and letting kids just be kids.
